On this one day in particular, my life changed forever. As I put on my favorite sweatshirt and old sneakers that were near in need of replacement, I felt something shift in my universe. "But this is what I do every morning?" I questioned myself, although that sounded incomplete. I grabbed a pop tart and walked out onto the dusty street, not sure what would come next. Surely this was just a feeling, maybe I'm ill. As I walked around the corner, I almost walked into two men who were fighting quite fiercely. One man was holding another against a wall, pounding him with a bloody fist which I was unsure was drenched in his victim's blood or his own. I knew I had to do something to help this man, I couldn't just let him be treated this way. I found a large grey piece of broken concrete on the ground and hurled it at the attacker's head. He stumbled to the ground with a loud grunt and lay there barely moving. I looked with wide eyes and took in what i had done. I looked at my hands, scratched by the piece of old concrete without speaking. I felt a hand on my shoulder and jumped at the soft touch. It was the man who had been beaten by the one I had just hit. He smiled at me "Thank you." he told me. I attempted a smile back, but couldn't create any words. "It's ok." he told me "You've done nothing wrong." "Nothing wrong?!" I screeched "He's lying in a pool of his own blood barely breathing and I did nothing wrong?!" The man looked at me with pain in his eyes "And you know what would've happened if you didn't?" he countered. I looked at him bewildered. He took my hand "Let's get out of here before anyone catches us." he says, dragging me down the broken street.

Will she ever forgive them for abandoning her? Will they ever be able to unveil her secrets? Where was she for all those years? This is story of a girl who was abandoned by her brothers when she was seven. Now, after 9 years, her brothers brought her back home. How will she deal with them, simultaneously dealing with the terrors that haunt her every night? Sneak Peak- Once we were out, I stopped and turned to face my blood relatives and said, "Okay, now that I am out you don't need to act anymore. Now, you guys can go back to your house and pretend that this never happened. I will go to my house and will make sure that we will not cross each other's path, even by accident." I was about to turn back when Ezekiel held my elbow, stopping me on my track. I immediately snatched my hand back glaring at him and said, "Do not ever touch me again." His eyes showed an emotion of hurt that I am sure I read incorrectly because one thing that Kensington brothers are incapable of was getting hurt by any outsider. And that was what I was. An outsider. Sensing the tension in the atmosphere Aldric took it upon himself to say whatever his brother was about to. "You are going with us." He spoke. One thing about Aldric Kensington was that once he has made his mind, there is nothing in this world that can change his decision. This is the very quality of his that made my life a living nightmare, and this is exactly why I hate him more than any of my brothers. "Let's go Athaliah," Ezekiel said this time. That name. No one has called me by that name in six years. "My name is Zahra," I corrected and continued, "And I am not going with you." #1 in running on 2/2/25 #1 in babysister on 15/12/24 #1 in brothersconflict on 27/12/24 #2 in abandoned #2 in broken #2 in abusing #2 in pastabuse #2 in nightterror #4 in olderbrother #3 in brokenfamily #5 in mafiaprincess #9 in siblings #34 in siblingrivalry #34 in littlesister #44 in ptsd #51 in misunderstood #59 in mafia

©2024 COPYRIGHTS. ❝It's you i want not your virginity, literacy or marriage count.❞ Nabeel became her shadow, her protector in a world that had abandoned her. He fought for her, bled for her, and, in the end, claimed her as his own. In his arms, she found not just love, but a savage devotion-something she never imagined she would experience in this lifetime. And as their worlds collided in passionate, dangerous harmony, Umaimah learned that love, when it finds you, doesn't come with the gentle caress of a fairy tale; it comes with the weight of a storm. Umaimah, a village girl with a heart heavy with desperation, was shackled by the cruelty of her adoptive parents, who treated her more as a servant than family. Her dreams, whispered in the dead of night, were filled with visions of escape-escape from the suffocating village that never saw her worth. Her first and only hope of salvation lay in marriage, but even that fate seemed to mock her. Three engagements had been broken, each leaving her more jaded, and now, at the ripe old age of "marriageable despair," she found herself cast aside, an unwed relic in a world that valued only brides. But fate, it seemed, had other plans. She was sent to the city as a maid-a meager consolation, but one that allowed her to slip away from her tormentors, to vanish into the sprawling anonymity of the urban jungle. She didn't just wish to escape; she needed to find her real parents, the bloodline that might redeem her.
