Verity Charlston isn't exactly promiscuous. At age 17, she's a definite virgin, and she's only ever liked three boys. All named Daniel.
It's a coincidence, she supposes. Maybe not a coincidence that she's asked all three out, and they all said.. No.
Firstly, there was Daniel Radcliffe, when she was ten. She had sent him a heartfelt fan letter expressing her true feelings and asking if he'd like to marry her. No reply.
Next, Daniel 'Dan' Clarke in year 8. The hottest boy in her school, at least according to Verity. And Dan's girlfriend (who he rejected Verity for just before the Christmas disco, leaving her dateless and emotionally scarred).
And lastly, Daniel Dimandis. Verity was 16 when he joined her year 11 class. He had joined in the spring term, strange for a new student. Which just made him more mysterious. But after a particularly rough rejection, Verity decided that she was done with boys.
Especially Daniels.
