Kaliah Doli is one of the few residents of the dystopian village of Hackney. Born into a place lacking any sense of creativity, Kaliah frequently indulges in the many arts. It is during one of these creative sessions that Kaliah discovers a gift that makes her even smaller in an already small world but opens her mind to a whole new universe she can barely start to understand. And then it turns out Kaliah isn't as alone as she thought.
