Madeline Gilbert has been blind for all seven years of her life. Her family which included her parents and herself, were captured by terrorists on their way to Russia.

For two years, the small family tried to survive the harsh conditions in the Afghanistan cave. And when the terrorists needed something, the Gilbert's were forced to make it. After a small incident, both parents were killed and Madeline was left to fend for herself.

A year later, a man is brought in. She is ordered to do surgery on him and remove any shrapnel in his chest. She gets most of it out and what she doesn't get out, is held up by an electro magnet attached to his chest.

This man happens to the billionaire genius Tony Stark. Together, they create their only way out of the cave, a suit. Tony calls it the Iron Man suit but for Madeline, it's just a piece of metal.

Once out of the cave, Tony makes it his responsibility to care for Madeline. He takes her under his wing and tends to her. But in the end, Madeline just becomes another babysitter to watch Tony not drink too much.

Whatever problem Tony is having, Madeline makes it her priority to solve it. By what happens when she can't solve Tony's biggest mistake yet? That mistake being herself.
