Me and my eleven friends and our one child are still alive, we aren't infected by the walkers, we still act...human. The water does not run anymore. There is little food, little clothes, no contact. Nothing. People just started dying about a year or so, in 1832 almost everyone had the disease, now it seems everything you see has it. People and animals are vicious they bite you, and try to eat and kill you. They are abnormal, and something is wrong with their nervous system. We are living in a small two bedroom basement sweet we've boarded up the upstairs doors and windows. Downstairs we have 5 locks on the door, and keep a heavy couch in front. We must do this to keep the walkers out, we have also closed up all the windows, we live in darkness using candles flashlights and any other sort of light we can find. We are stocking up on food, and supplies. We plan on getting some cars and making our way to the ocean, they can't get us out there. I worry for everyone I am with, we are trained in the force, we all worked for the army. We came home to this, to nothing. We are the only ones that I know of from our force to have lived. I worry mainly for my sister, niece and boyfriend. Melissa and Shelby are my two best friends, I worry about them non-stop. I know everyone here, I worry about us all.

We are a whisper in the world, and we can't be heard.

As you begin to read this, you start to remember. That fateful day, you may have been eating dinner, on your phone, coming home from work or school, or watching TV, when the Emergency Broadcast System emerged on every media outlet available. "THIS IS NOT A TEST," the screen read. "Lock every entrance, gather necessities, DO NOT go outside, and remain calm. Further instructions will soon follow." Zombies are a fickle creature; they're always changing. These zombies... They're unlike anything you've ever seen. The reality of having seen something that gruesome makes your heart race again. You remember the way they looked at first and having to study them to keep your spot at the top of the chain. You look around. You've established yourself again, reading a book you found to kill some time. Making the zombie apocalypse, simply something that you've experienced, among many other things. Now, let's get to that book! October 30, 2015, 7:58 p.m. That's when it all began for everyone, the awful sounds of the emergency alarms filling the air with panic. No one had a certain plan, just hopes for the best and quick wits. Robert Duncan was on a farm where he worked, fixing machines. His regular life would instantly change, and the world would flip on itself. The things he would do, the people he would meet, and the items he would obtain were not in his imagination. This is his story, just as you would have one, and what became of him...

A 10 year old girl, sharing the world with the dead. Everybody becomes family at some point. "Blood isn't what makes us family. It's because you'd risk yours to save me if I needed it, and I'd do the same for you. We didn't know each other before this, heck you didn't even like me at first. But now... you'd kill to protect me, and when I'm scared, you're the one I run to. You're my family because you stayed and my parents, my actual blood... they just gave me up." "Ya sound like ya Pop." "I know." TW: death. gore. murder. deep trauma. drug use. alcohol use. sexual assault. mentions of needles. abandonment. (really deep stuff so please don't read if you're triggered easily)
