It all started long, long ago when the world was suffering from a evil god. People all over were suffering from illnesses, fatigue, and hunger. But in this chaos was four boys who were born unnaturally.

The first born, Ren, a boy born from the darkest place on earth, where no living thing has ever been. The second born, Enki, born from the vast nature that lies untouched. The third born, Lioken , born from the fiercest strike of lightning. The fourth born, and youngest of them all, Kyo, born from the hottest fires.

When the evil god heard of such unnatural births, from the spirits, he began to fear them. Out of fear he had plans to hunt them down. But then a goddess comes and hides the boys away. Out of anger the God traps the Goddess, and takes her as his prisoner.

Now thousands and thousands of years have passed and these guardians still have not been found. But it is rumoured they are in search of the Goddess that saved their lives so many years ago. Will they find their Goddess? Or will she find them before he does?

Hadley Jamison doesn't know what to think when she hears that her classmate, Archer Morales, committed suicide. She didn't exactly know him, but that doesn't stop her from feeling like there was something she could have done to help him. So to Hadley's surprise, on the very night of Archer's funeral, she has a run in with Death himself and is offered the chance to go back in time to stop Archer from ending his life. The catch? She only has twenty-seven days to do it. And if Hadley doesn't succeed? Well, she doesn't want to think about that.
