Those that are alive have lived through ages of war and blood. And now I am trapped between them both and the Templars are going to pay for what they've done. I owe it to them.

They have been hired by the people running the lottery game you played because they don't want to pay you for that long. The story takes place in modern times, any major city setting is fine. It is written through the main characters eyes, only referred to as 'you'. The description of the character is deliberately vague so that the reader can imagine themselves as the character.
