In the uncertain world of 2076, everything rides on the whims of consolidated megacorporations as they vie for survival and global dominance. To protect themselves and their interests, these monolithic firms of tomorrow employ a new weapon in the shadow struggle for economic and political superiority: the genetically engineered "artificial" human. 

Designated as "genetic capital" by the all reaching Hexadyn Biotechnical Conglomerate, Lucy 636 is one such individual. With perfect genes and mechanical enhancements, she is stronger, faster, and better than her peers.  Part cop, part assassin, part soldier, she fulfills the most extreme needs of Hexadyn's elite Special Investigations Department in the field. Not that she has a choice; she's company property.

Still, following orders is never a guarantee you'll last on the razor's edge, and a single misstep can easily upend Lucy's fragile place in the world. When a routine seeming case goes south, Lucy quickly finds herself thrown down a path of betrayal and conspiracy... A path that will find her targeted, tested, and faced with revelations about herself that she may not be prepared to confront.

After being critically incapacitated in action, AX-15 was rendered unfit for service and was practically thrown out onto the streets. However, the android had been discovered by a smooth-talking mercenary that still found use for the combat androids' capabilities and given him the new name of Axis. The two go on to become the most feared hitmen in the underground, going by the name "Machina Mortis". Axis, with programmed loyalty to the mercenary and to the contract, suddenly has a glitch in his programming after an unexpected development during a mark which causes him to break from his prime directives and ignite a part of himself that Axis didn't know had existed.

Mass chaos and violence run rampant in the lower levels the UFD try to maintain the peace but with so much going things tend to slip through. The Cyber Sword has access to many technologies but their man power is low, they have droids for low level missions but special detectives know as Cyber swords. Most security is privatized. The company known as CT is the for front of cyber innovations with the exception of privately funded military contracts......
