I gulped nervously, "Well sir, I got on a train as soon as I received the transmissions and...Well Agent Artemis is dead."

"Sir...What about the kids?" I asked

who do you know that would take on project New Gen?"

"I'll do it."

"This message will self destruct in 5 seconds." He turned to look at me, a quizzical expression covering his features. "No, no, no, no! Don't give me that look I know what that means!" I said, defensively. What is it that one does hours before when the Kremlin's intact but once you leave having failed your original objective, it implodes causing the entire world to heap its destruction onto your shoulders, in turn making Russian agents track you down over a series of nations, borders and buildings which simultaneously reveals your actual heritage and the whereabouts of your Mother of whom, you'd been lead to believe died a long time ago? Nope didn't think you had an answer to that. And frankly, neither do I. I manage to get myself so caught up in much of this tangible work that I don't even have a plan of action. I just go with the flow I guess. It's either that or I'm incredibly talented and charismatic. I personally, think it's the latter but I'll leave that decision up to you. The IMF will stop at nothing to get the answers even if the rest of the organisation has been disavowed, having had Ghost Protocol initiated. But that begs the question, can a certain analyst aid them in their efforts? Or is he too, hiding something which goes deeper than anyone initially thought? Join Miles and the rest (or remaining) members of the IMF as they travel the world to stop a nuclear explosion from damaging humanity... Started: January 21st 2024 Finished: April 18th 2024 *I don't claim to own Mission impossible or any of the characters. I only own my OC's.* *I also don't own any of the pictures (including the cover image) in this story, I found them all on Pinterest.*

"As far back as I can remember, I've been surrounded by water. The salt in the air even now makes it hard to breath, forcing me to squint. Sand clings to every inch of me, caking my pants and shoes. The wind from the ocean picks my hair up, sending it blowing back towards the multi-colored houses lining the shore line. *** 'Quinn, don't panic,' Lexi says through gritted teeth. She holds fistfuls of my shirt now, and I hear the rubber soles of her shoes squeaking. 'Too late,' I whine, grabbing the barbed wire in a last desperate effort to regain some balance. The razor sharp blades cut into my palms, making me jump again. Lexi sucks in air and loses her grip on me. I hold my breath and close my eyes, feeling the wind cradle me from all sides as I fall at about twenty-four miles per hour, considering the height of the wall and my weight. Now, I wish I was surrounded by water." South of Compound 4, another compound exists. Within the wall of Compound 5, children are trained and tested for perfection through the Intelligence Exam, a test that every student takes during their sixteenth year. Pass, and you stay within the compound. Fail, and you are sent to another compound. It's common knowledge that they are building a perfect population to remain when the rest of the world falls to the Virus. Yet, what happens when Quinn faces the threat of Compound 5, a short blonde girl whose name he can't pronounce, and begins to question everything he's ever been taught, pushing the limits of the system and his own comfort zone? When a student receives the compound's first ever perfect IE score, a storm makes its way in from the ocean. Can Q unravel the secrets held within the walls, or will he lead his family and friends to a war they can't win against a woman who seems to be triumphing against all odds? Selected is the sequel to Immune, found on my profile. Record Ranking: #25 in Science Fiction
Guardians of the Light (Book 1: Rebirth) by Kat_Penney

Many centuries ago, an unspoken darkness swept across the land taking all that was light and pure in the world with it. Creatures of this darkness roamed free to spread the darkness wherever they went consuming any trace of light remaining. In order to stop The Darkness from controlling the world, a group of priests took the remaining pieces of light and placed them within the body of two chosen children. They became known as the Children of the Light. Their sacrifice was not in vain, leaving behind spoken words for the next generation of children born with the pure light energy within them. Over time an organisation built on these words was formed called The Guardians, who were tasked to seek out the next chosen children and protect them from The Darkness should it rise again. Centuries have come and gone as the battle between the light and the darkness still rages on, unaware of the human race that creatures live among them and that a battle between them and the guardians has gone on for many years. Present day we find ourselves in a small city named New Haeven that has become the centre of the secret world of light and dark. The current story follows a Guardian by the name of Ronin. Guns, revenge and buildings to bomb, what could go wrong? ✮ He came in, gun held out in front of him in one hand while the other was resting on his hip where a sharp dagger gleamed in the light. "Come on out little girl, why not make this easier for both of us. The agency you ran away from just want to have a little talk, that's all." She scoffed internally. Yeah right. Then the footsteps ceased. She peeked to the right, then to the left. Neither direction showed any sign of the intruder. She looked up in front of her and gasped, the glint of steel and smell of death as overwhelming as it was adrenaline inducing, exciting. "Boo." ✮ Murder, accidents, assassinations. Call it what you will, it's all the same, all has the same life breaking, mind shattering consequences - be it for the victim or the bystander. It had shaped Alex in a way no one should be. Broken down and rebuilt into the perfect soldier, one who had the power to change the world, to fight battles that would either make or break the carefully constructed vision we all live in. The only small, minute, really unimportant detail - it's pretty hard to get into a government classified site when you're 15 years old and have a rag-tag team of double-crossing back-stabbers behind you. Not to mention the threat of a world war and ghost hanging above your head. Armed with sarcasm, wit, and a hell of a lot of aggressive intentions, it won't be too long till a sticky situation is all that's ahead of you. Sometimes, running head-first into a situation isn't the best idea. Instead, you gotta play a game. A deadly game where either you have all the pieces on the board, or you have nothing. [previously known as Espionage: double-cross] Thanks for reading :)

Project Frostbite

17 parts Complete

"No one knows where the Potentials are taken. If the prisoners resist, they turn up dead the very next day. They call it Project Frostbite." "They?" "Are all dead." ****** For over 6 months now, bodies have been turning up on the streets of New York. No one knows the cause of death, with the bodies unharmed, barring a single needle prick in the base of the victim's neck. Old or young, big or small; it didn't matter. No evidence of the killers, nothing. Tryston Waters lived a relatively good life. Granted he had an overprotective ex-military father and a policewoman for a mother, but still, he thought he was just a normal 19yr old boy with a normal job and normal life. But one day, when he reveals a powerful secret he didn't even know he harbored, Tryston's life will turn upside down. In 48 hours, he's dodging bullets, avoiding spies, and teaming up with a snarky assassin who doesn't know how to socialize. Firestorm was enjoying her time in New York. She was making big bucks in her "cleaning" business, and was having a blast fighting off the CEO's bodyguards who thought she was just a defenseless teenager. She doesn't have time to babysit an amateur pyrotechnic who is being chased by the very people she was running from. Tryston has no idea who is after him or why, and Firestorm seems to hold the answers. But just how close is she to Project Frostbite? After all, the enemy of your enemy is your friend. All in the name of war.
