*****Growing up in a small town you either hate someone or they're your best friend. This was extremely true for Melanie Sinclair. She had one person she could tell everything to, Matt Robertson. They were practically connected at the hip their whole lives, well at least until they graduated from high school. Matt went into the Army and Melanie went off to Duke. Somehow they got unconnected as they both strived for different futures.

*****Now seven years later Matt's getting ready to finish up his enlistment in the military, and Melanie is immersing herself into her own career. But when someone so dear to the both of them passes away they are brought back together. And also back in the small town where they grew up, Sinclair, North Carolina.

*****Can they rekindle their friendship, and maybe a little something more? Can two people that are completely different now, share a future together? Or will it all be doomed from the start?
