Artemis Sirocco, a young girl of sixteen, is thrown into a new school amongst new people and abilities. While in school, she learns of secrets never imagined, and things that the ordinary cannot do. 

At the same time, a killer is on the loose. The blood-thirsty assassin, X, is out for blood. Many consider X insane and want the killer killed for killing. Detective Paul Ace and his wife Gwen are out looking for X, hoping to arrest and press charges against the murderer and bring justice to the victims.
