"Hey mum?" Danielle asks, glancing at her mother and back to the old parchment in her hands.
"Yes, love?"
"What is 'Hogwarts'?"
Her mother looks up from her plate, silent for a moment. A small smile soon slowly makes its way onto her face, her eyes shining.
"Why are you smiling?" Danielle asked her mother curiously, then looked down at the unopened envelope in her hands. She rubbed her thumb over the wax seal.
"We need to have a talk. After you eat your breakfast, Dani."

If anyone asked her about it, Danielle Parker would say, "I have a pretty normal life."
If they asked her how so, she would respond with, "Well, I live with my mum in Bristol. I go to school Monday through Friday, and I struggle with my homework. I like to read on the weekends when I'm not practicing the drums. It's pretty normal, if you ask me."
But if anyone bothered to ask about her life on the 27th of July, she'd give them a completely different answer. You see, on that day, she turns eleven; on that day, her mum asks her to grab the post; on that day, she receives a letter from a place called Hogwarts; on that day, secrets are revealed and her journey begins.
