Oliver King is a story about the progression through adolescence for a young boy.  It begins during the 1980's from when he is born to his unwed parents and travels through his life, experiencing relationships, a lot of anger, it focuses on his issues with alcohol and drugs and also sends him through a time where he is homeless.  Oliver then finds himself in a relationship that is unbearable.  He kills his partner and looks for a way to escape.

There are a lot of deep and hurtful parts to this story so you must be advised to take caution when reading.

I would label this book 18 years and upwards for the sensitive nature of the book.

After finding out how serious Theo's addiction was, his extremely wealthy parents sent him to live far away where he wouldn't cause a scandal. At the beginning he just wanted to leave as soon as possible, but that changes when he meets a boy who gives him some very good reasons to stay...
