Katniss now has a family, her husband Peeta and her two innocent children.
The nightmares and fears from her past life are still there, lingering in her mind night and day, but they are not so clear anymore.
That is, until her old friend from her teenage years returns to District 12 and completely disrupts her peaceful life.
Her old friend who still loves her with all his heart, who has not moved on after all this time.
For twenty-five years Katniss has tried to forget him, and can she carry on with that now he has returned?
But the closed wound in her heart for him has already reopened. The wound that has never really stopped hurting for him.

Katniss and Peeta were publicly executed after the Capitol took over again, and District 13 was completely obliterated. Since then, the Hunger Games have been harsher than ever. What if Katniss and her family, Gale and his family, and Peeta and his brother ran away from District Twelve after the Victory Tour? For this fic to be plausible, we need to assume: Katniss is 'selfish' enough to choose her own safety over that of other people (which she isn't because she's awesome). Gale doesn't know about the uprising in 8. Peeta tried to get his family to come too but only got his brother to agree, and he is okay with this. Haymitch doesn't do anything to stop them. President Snow has not electrified the fence (but let's assume he did electrify it that one time) and has no cameras in the woods. So if we can accept all of this, let's do it!Complete
