Aroh, Shimmer, and Rumble have always been around. They're Cyan's best friends.

The four take a summer trip to a cabin on a lake to go "soul-searching" before beginning their freshman year of college. One night, Cyan disappears for a week, and comes back in horrible condition. Everything changes.
