When Alanna stumbles upon a mysterious library in her closet, she is instantly enthralled. In her world, reading books is illegal, so finding a beautiful place to read as her  mother taught her while she was alive is a true blessing to Alanna. But when her dreams begin to be troubling and she finds herself swept up in a strange chain of events that seems to lead only to her own death, Alanna begins to be suspicious of the library. Will she be able to uncover the truth before  the Night of Execution, or will she succumb to the fog that clouds her mind to what is really happening?
