"You're mine, Alana," He told me clearly, grabbing my arm gently and pulling me to him. "Whether you like it or not, we are mates."
Snarling, I pushed him away, and stated, "Well, guess what? I don't like it, and I refuse to accept we're mates...or whatever you call it. Just leave me alone." I then turned and walked away. Unfortunately, I didn't get very far before I was grabbed by the waist and pulled against a hard chest, which sent sparks down my body. And I absolutely hated myself for it.
In my ear, I heard Landon whisper, "Feel that, Alana? Your body reacts to me, and only me. So go ahead and admit your feelings towards me." He ran his nose down my neck and gently kissed me where my neck meets my shoulder. "Or I guess you could run, but I'll only chase you."
He then let me go and I did what my instincts told me to do...I ran.
