In the world of ______ powerful fairies are summoned through works of art. The more beautiful the art the more powerful the fairy. In a struggling family without a father, a young prodigy named Mikayla with a gift for painting prepares to summon her first fairy. Her younger brother Daniel, however, seems like a lost cause especially compared to Mikayla's apparent brilliance. He spends his free time practicing magic and sleights of hands, a practice scorned my society and largely ignored due to the existence of real magic. Even worse Daniel is hopeless at music, art, and wordplay. Teetering on the edge of expulsion Daniel must realize what little skill he has when Mikayla is kidnapped my a neighboring kingdom in preparation for the upcoming war. Daniel must find a fay of his own and rescue Mikayla all while being essentially useless.

Our main character is going to learn that your powers do not define who you are as a person. Arion Griffin lives in a society where people with light magic are 'good' and people with dark magic are 'bad'. He comes from a long line of dark magic. Unfortunately, this causes many problems for his social life since his family's reputation precedes him and makes it so no one will talk with him. He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. (I apologize for deleting the last version of the Goddess's Follower, I didn't see any way to make it interesting but after a period of planning and making sure things are good, I planned a better version of it. I would like to thank my boyfriend for inspiring me on this) Boarding school student, Luke Everwood, sees no point for life around the quaint Chesterville. Luke wants to find out more of her and eventually comes to find that she is a lost goddess, one of the most less known of a Celtic province and that her and him are connected by the gift and that she needs her help. A dark god has taken over her godly kingdom and she was exiled, now wanting to return and do something right for her nation, with Luke's help. As they embark on their quest, Luke comes through the hidden parts of his world where things aren't as they seem, and that he has no choice but to live by that.

All she remembers is a white light and someone saving her. Now she's seventeen and trying to figure out why strange things keep happening to her. She's no hero, she couldn't even save her own brother from a terrible wolf-like monster, so why does a guy named Danny suddenly appear and tell her how special she is?
