Kory Flint, Sarah's brother, had told her he was looking for three people in his life. He called them the “Gifted Three.” Kory would never find them on his own. All along his sister Sarah had known that. She had tried to stop Kory and her father, a mysterious man who called himself Prometheus, from leaving, but they wouldn’t listen. Sarah's father always went on about how he planned on overthrowing a mountain called Mount Olympus by tracking down the Gifted Three. He said he would take over Atlantis to get them to notice his power. Sarah thought they were nuts, always talking about Greek fairytales. Now Kory and Prometheus were dead. Sarah’s mother, Tabitha, has befallen into a state of shock ever since the news arrived. Sarah has always had the power to read peoples' minds. Literally. Her brother Kory could control fire. They always thought they weren't human. But now all over New York City teenagers are showing up claiming they have super natural powers, and Sarah is confronted by several of them, and they all want one thing: The Gifted Three; and they'll kill anyone who gets in their way to find them. Meanwhile, streets and allies are freezing up. Not only that, they're burning too. It seems like the work of teenagers with super natural powers, alright. As Sarah roams to find out what on Olympus is going on, she's hearing rumors that a kid with powerful fire magic is hunting somebody down... That someone is a kid named Kai Marcus. Sarah doesn't know who he is, but she is told by a man who calls himself Hades to find Kai before the flaming madman finds him first. The only person Sarah had ever known with the will to control fire was her very own brother, Kory. And he's dead...right?
