Young girl Kate works every days of the week. One day, she meets Laura. But Laura is so gorgeous and also straight at "first sight". Kate puts her job in danger for the girl who, she thinks, is her next soul mate.

The closer I got, the more I was losing my mind. I reached her table and took a seat in front of her. "Hey what are you doing here?" I asked. She looked at me, confused. "Uhm I came to drink a coffee with my friend!" she said, laughing at how nervous I must have looked. "Oh yeah, sure. Nevermind, I... I didn't ask anything right?" I said with a slight chuckle. Her friend came back from the bathroom, sat beside her and looked at her with a questionning look. "Who's that?" Her friend asked as if I wasn't even there. "Bryer! Come on we have tables waiting for their orders." Jerry shouted. "Okay, I have to go." I said with an awkward smile and got up. Right before I left I turned around and said "Sorry, I may have to take your orders." They both laughed at me and proceed to give me their orders.

Kendra is a strong-minded girl that knows what she needs and won't let anyone stand in her way of achieving her goals. Marissa is a shy, invisible girl that is just trying to get by in the world. When they meet, both of their worlds are shook. Everything is different. Is this for better...or worse? ******************************** "My bad, Kendra. I didn't see you there..." My voice trails off and my cheeks get bright red. I sidestep her and she continues silently working. What has gotten into her? I clean up my workspace and go to the cabinet to get more flour, when I feel something warm against my back. It's her. Her stomach is pressed against my back and she whispers something in my ear but I can't hear her over the sound of my heartbeat blaring in my ears. Her warm breath carries the soft scent of mint and icing. Two of my favorite things. She sighs onto my neck, making me shiver. "W-what'd you say?" I stutter. "I said, 'those cupcakes are looking awfully delicious, doll.'" She mumbles into my ear. "Th-thank you. I tried my best." What are you doing?!? Focus! I shift over and walk away from her and towards the sink to wash up some more pans. I hear Kendra huff and she appears beside me. She picks up the sponge before I can so I glare at her. "Here, let me help you." She smirks. I stand with the towel and start drying the pans. When she's done washing, she lets out the sink water and I set the towel down and walk towards the big fridge. She gives a frustrated sigh and walks toward me, gripping my waist. My cheeks get bright red and I hold my breath. She's such a beautiful girl....I love the way her apron hugs her curves....the way her full lips look when she bites them...the way she touches me....

"Are you... lost?" Someone asked, her tone impatient. I stopped scanning the room to find the woman behind the voice. I blinked. She had the most luminous blue eyes I had ever seen. Even in the dim glow of the bar they glowed brightly, like her pupils were some type of smooth stone at the bottom of a clear blue ocean. Within her blue there flickered tiny speckles of silver, which gave her an icy, somewhat stony appeal. But it was her slight, lopsided smile that erased any signs of wanting to be alone. No wonder this bar was so popular. "Uh, no," I said, holding up the Help Wanted sign I had snagged from the front window. The woman's cool eyes flickered between the sign and me. She didn't say anything, only looked slightly thoughtful as slender fingers raked through her long blonde hair. "What can you do?" She finally asked, definitely not expecting me to be able to do much of anything at all. She'd be right. "Anything and everything," I answered-lied-instantly, hoping I didn't look too desperate, didn't sound too eager. To be perfectly honest, I hadn't worked a day in my life. My hands were used to weekly manicures not hard labor. But desperate times call for desperate measures. The blonde appeared thoughtful again. Those magnificent eyes gave me a once over, slow and steady. You could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered it. I decided to try and sound more convincing. "I have many skills," I added. Okay, so I stole that from Xena, but I was hoping it worked as well for me as it did for her. The blonde lifted a sculpted brow and the smile was, once again, back on her lips. She seemed amused. Maybe she was a Xena fan? "Alright... I'll start you off cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping the floors, doing the dishes..." Crap.

"What do you want?" I mentally roll my eyes. "Can I not talk to my favorite girl?" She smiles walking dangerously close to me.
