Stacy Soltan is a 9-year-old girl who lives in a small town. Her family lives in a relevently small house- her being an only child- and has a mother and a father. Stacy doesn't know what to think of her parents, or people in general. Whenever she describes a person, she seems to mention a small doll-like creature following near the person's head. Each person has a different doll- big, small, white, brown, red buttons for eyes, it all depends on the person. 

She thinks this is normal for everyone to have and that's why she thinks she's different. She doesn't have a doll following- or at least one that she can see.
