("Love us or hate us, it's still an obsession." - Bring Me The Horizon)

October Wayland. She's the talk of the city when she and her mother move from a small city of Idaho to busy Anaheim, California. With her quirky but fashionable outfits, her ever changing emotions, and an amazing musical ability, she's going to take the world by storm.

Well... Only if she can get over her horrific social skills and past the boys next door, Jaybee Getter and Roger Blackwell that is. Especially when she realizes they are going to be stuck to her life whether she likes it or not. They're not going anywhere.

When she finds out these boys are in a band with their friends Roth and Sylver, she ends up riding along with them on their rise to fame while trying to manage her own musical career.

How can one teenager juggle the loss of her father, a new town, a new school for the arts, making music, chasing around the band, and love all at the same time?

This is the story of how October Wayland came to be known as Black and White, the singer who you either love or hate.

With her, there is never an in between.

~Her words were my poison. I used them to consume myself. Disturbingly honest. Painfully strained. Carefully penned down. Dangerously addictive.~ A journal that landed in the right hands and told a whole story with words, no lips could speak. Two people bound by the pages of a book that tore their souls apart. He found it lying around and wondered what could go wrong. He didn't recognise the handwriting but he knew he instantly fell in love with it. Then it began. The assault of words on his life. He couldn't believe a word she wrote but somehow he did. He knew more about her than anyone else but he knew so little about who she was... It was maddening. How someone could have such an impact on you without having a single conversation with you. Her precious words tortured his existence, they drowned him in misery, created a black hole of words around him, gave him everything he needed to live. Made him fall in love. Gave him a world of his own. Made him believe in rainbows, unicorns, coffee, the basis of happiness, the meaning of every sunrise, the mystery of every deep ocean, she made him human. He knew he had to find her. He had to find out who she was. He had given him all the clues he needed but none of them were enough to prepare him for who she was. But sometimes... Cole the Not So Stereotypical Jock Being the most popular guy that girls all want to be with and all guys want to be should make you feel on top of the world, right? Not always, especially if you have to keep the fact that you can barely afford food a secret at all costs. And then the new girl shows up with her amazing dance moves and intoxicatingly confusing logic, and he can't seem to get her out of his head. She isn't the favorite girl of the school, not to mention his friends, and she doesn't show any interest towards him, but he has to try. The girl with the mysterious ways has got him wrapped around her scarred little finger. Not Andy Being the girl with no friends is never easy- especially when you have major trust issues and problems that can only be discussed with a shrink. That's why instead of slowly letting people into her life, she chose to shut them out completely. It seems easier that way, which is until she moves to Bangor, Maine and catches the eye of Cole, the football quarterback and heart throb of the school. He makes her feel things that she didn't think we're capable, and he shows how to make a bad situation into something semi-tolerable. It gets her thinking that maybe cliche boys with secrets aren't such a bad thing. During their 17th year, Andy and Cole must face the problems of high school, social hierarchy, their pasts, relationships, trust, friendships, and even love. Both of them knowing that stories like this never happen to kids like them, but they're willing to try anyway.

17-almost-18-year-old Ezra Thompson is tired of two things. First, is constant chatter about Dilemma, an all-boy rock band, led by the supposedly-dreamy frontman Andre Robinson that somehow has a universal grip on every teenager in the world. Personally, Ezra doesn't see the appeal. Second, being in the shadow of her more smart, successful, and popular twin brother Emmet. Ezra couldn't ask for a better life. The thing is, Ezra, can sing. Like really sing. Only her parents who are occasionally proud of her, treat it as a juvenile hobby and she could never sing in front of people. So for now, her shampoo bottles get front-row access to her once-a-night concert in the shower. But when Ezra's younger sister, Maria, signs her up for a singing reality show called Finding Solstice, she is both angry and grateful. To her surprise, she passes the audition and is invited to Los Angeles for the show. Suddenly immersed in the cutthroat music industry, Ezra faces a whirlwind competition against fame-hungry singers, all fighting tooth and nail for the same prize. Amidst the manufactured forces of the industry, she must stand her ground and protect her passion for music. As if that wasn't enough, Ezra finds herself suddenly encountering a pretentious rockstar and is unexpectedly drawn to him. As the competition heats up, Ezra finds herself at the center of a brewing scandal that could end her career before it even starts. The pressure is on, and Ezra is torn between her passion for music and the fear of being dragged down. The stakes are high, and people are unforgiving, but Ezra knows that her music is worth fighting for. With her future on the line, she must navigate the twists and turns of the music industry and stay focused on what really matters: her music and her dreams.

TW: this book may contain mentions of violence and of suicide. DISCLAIMER #1: I wrote this story when I was a teen and while some mental disorders are the focal point, they may not be accurate representations as I was far from being a psychologist. There are several things Lynn doesn't quite get about the world she lives in, which makes it harder for her to figure herself out. She is not your average teenager. She's young, intelligent, though something about her is off by now. Everyone is quick to misjudge and point fingers, everything and everyone is so corrupted that she's afraid she'll lose herself among a bunch of wandering, empty souls. Therapy can only help so much, depression is hard to die, and in Lynn's case it's caused solely by the fact she doesn't 'fit in'. She can't really find her place in the world. But there's something really special about her; Her dreams are haunted by a wonderful, mystical place. No one understands her, they think she's off her rocker, that she needs to cut her childish daydreams. But Lynn knows deep in her heart that place really exists, and she'll do anything to find it, with the help of some new found friends. There's only one thing she must do: Keep an open mind, it brings open hearts and open eyes. -- DISCLAIMER #2 This fanfiction is inspired to Mind Over Matter by Pvris and their lyrics in general. All you read here is fiction. every reference to real events or people is purely coincidental. I do not own the songs featured in the book.
