Time is such a tricky thing. Being subjected to many scientific tests can make time go by in a blur. In 1942, the American scientists responsible for Captain America kept a few things to themselves. Steve Rogers wasn't the first one to be tested on, nor was he the last.
Katherine O'Reilly, a childhood best friend of both Steve and James Barnes, is selected to become the first woman to be given the super soldier serum. Heartbroken from the deaths of her two best friends, she allows herself to become a tool for the SSR to use. She is trained in espionage and war. The serum has unintentional effects, making Kat's aging process slow to a crawl.
When SHIELD finds Steve frozen in the ice, Kat is estatic. But when her first love comes back to her, will she finally allow herself to love him- again?
