We know you have powers; we can sense them on you. We can do this because we have powers too. We call it magic. If you want, we can show you.” “Prove it then.” ~^~^~^~^~ There was a monster inside of her – a dark thing that always tried to claw its way out, ripping her insides to shreds as it went. She found no relief from it, maybe because she had no happy memories to find solace in, nor anyone to find comfort in. And yet, Amber could be the catalyst to setting a series of events that had been prophesied centuries before, into motion, bringing together three more people – the embodiments of the Emblems – to bring magic back to life. But in this underlying world of Adepts, Demons and secrets within secrets, unlocking their potential will be harder than you think. ~^~^~^~^~^ So, this is my 2014 Nanowrimo story, which is basically an attempt to rewrite Phoenix, where it shall go through major changes in plot, characters as well as effects of my new-and-improved writing style. The Defined (Draft)
Connor Hunter's life was as normal as everything was. He attended school regularly with his two best friends. He had average scores which for a guy of his age would be normal. He lived alone far from his parents because he wanted to be independent, no uncommon thing there. One day, an accident occurs. He discovers that he had acquired some kind of ability to manipulate space and time. Everything goes downhill and he questions his sanity. Is he crazy? Could he be dreaming? Is this all real? After a few encounters he realizes that he isn't the only ability weilder, there are others, some stronger, others smarter and each one is different. Where will this realization come to? What will become of his everyday life? What happens when he meets more of his type? There is only one way to find out, and I'll tell you this much, It wont be easy.

The Noble Academy has a group of people that are born with special abilities besides the other humans. They are called Elementals. These people are at the top of the school. So far, the known abilities are fire, water, earth and air. These people wear red cloaks and mask to protect their identities. What happens when there is a person that has all the abilities and more? Meet Winter Valentine. She knows what she is and she knows it must be kept as a secret. The elders of the Academy keep a close eye on her. Fearing that she can be a dangerous threat as she controls very strong powers. A dangerous power is approaching and not all the Elements can defeat them. They need Winter to fight with it but how can they do so if they don't know Winter? (It isn't fully edited. Ever since I could remember my parents have always said I'm special,not the your great at sports special or the just because you can not make friends special but the your the only hybrid special. I started showing sighs of magic at a young age after my first shift. Since I am the first of my kind, I have trouble controlling my powers and my parents have always warned me to never let that happen because it would cause others to want to use it against me or for evil. This did not became more apparent than the day I witnessed them die. Before they died they had told me that the only way for me to control my powers was if I found my mate because then I'd have balance but as luck would have it when I did find my mate, he rejected me so I have been living my life as a human. Its been nearly a decade and a half since their death, I had made peace with what happened in the past but the past has not made peace with me so it seems...
