This is a Chinese novel, and they made a TV series on it. It's amazing and I already watched that series three times. I'll generate a English version of this novel so Americans can read it. Please note I may delete some parts of the novel. The culture is different and some of this stuff won't make sense to American readers. So I will get rid of that, but that's upon my discretion.

The Secrets of a Nation
It was a normal nation meeting. They held one annually at least 3 times a year. However, this meeting ended up turning the world on their heads. Their parents, the ancients, who have long since passed on cannot stand to watch their children suffer. With this a plan is formed to help, even if only just a little. A messenger from the ancients arrive with a book and wishes of happiness for the nations. They're stuck with no way out, in a space where time is separated from reality. They only have one way to leave, and that is to read. Through this book the true personality of the nations shine through.
