With their rightful Alpha dead, their territory decimated and their numbers too small to compete with larger packs, what remained became homeless; moving from place to place and living off the generosity of other packs who respected their heritage. When Alpha Gregor, a wolf from a pack of great influence, offers them not only a visit but a permanent place of residence in exchange for Leila's elder sister, the current Alpha of the Copii lunii agrees.
