Breeze Carter comes from an unusual family.
His mother is desperately trying to cling to her old hippie days. Pregnant with her sixth child, she moves the family in an attempt to settle them down in time for the new baby. But it hasn't worked.
His younger sister is on a one-way ticket to slut city. His older sister is fighting all over the place. His younger brother is wandering off and his older brother is slinking off for midnight meetings with his ex-jailbird father.
Breeze has never had friends before, so when the kids from a local farm accept him as one of their own, he's more than willing to accept. But his new friends harbour a secret.
