At birth you are given a charm that is only half of a shape. 18 year old Rose was given one half of a circle. Your charm is meant to guide you to your perfect match so that you don't have to go through the pain of dating someone who isn't the right one. When you get closer and closer to your match, the charm will get warmer until you are right next to your match and the charm will fall off your neck. When you are far away, it is cold. Most people keep their charms and find their match, but others will disregard their charm and get rid of it. But the only problem is no one has ever disregarded their charm, but Rose might be the first.

Soulmates, we're always told we have one but I haven't been so sure I do. I mean I did get my tattoo and it hasn't disappeared yet, meaning they aren't dead. I guess believing in something like that takes a lot of effort. When you first touch your soulmate (Skin to skin contact) your tattoo turns a solid color. That color is the most important color in your life at the moment you touched. In this world, there's a system to tell who your soulmate is. Nobody remembers how it happened but, one day people started getting these tattoos on their right wrist. These tattoos are a basic shape that resembles your soulmate's hair. The shape is filled in completely by the color of your soulmate's hair as well. In the center of the tattoo, there are 1-5 objects. Those objects describe what your soulmate loves to do. The shape of my tattoo always fascinated me but I've never been able to put it into words. My tattoo shape is an upside-down half-circle if instead of the bottom part being flat, it opens and curves outwards. In the center of my tattoo was a volleyball, it always was a volleyball, it's never changed once. You see naturally, people tend to change hobbies, but whoever my soulmate was, they didn't change theirs, I never changed mine either which is fascinating. The color of the pendent was a rich forest green,a color as vibrant as the green leaves outside after a down pour of rain, you had grown to love the color seeing as you had the necklace with you at all times. All soulmate necklaces had their own unique trait to connect you and your soulmate along with getting warmer the closer you are and colder the farther apart the two of you were. Yours was quite diverse depending on how you or your soulmate were feeling, you could feel each others heartbeats when you touched the necklace or on more rare occasions you could hear each other's voices.
