A short story that follows Selene, a young woman with haunting visions of a world on the brink of destruction. When Axel, a stranger with knowledge of her hidden past, appears in her life, their fates become dangerously intertwined. As strange forces begin to stir and Selene's dreams grow more vivid, she discovers she may hold the key to stopping an impending disaster. But with the truth slipping further from her grasp, Selene is left to question: Is she destined to save the world-or destroy it? The answers seem just out of reach, and time is running out.

After getting betrayed by the person closest to her, Selene is kicked out of the Vampire Hunter Academy on a one year suspension. Now being moved from foster home to foster home due to her bad attitude, she's determined to find out why she was betrayed in the first place. But once she knows she'll faced with a choice: to scrape up the remaining pieces of her life and get back into VHA... or decide to let it all go. I wrote this short story a LONG time ago and originally posted it on FF, BUT I decided to finish it and post it here instead. It focuses less on the paranormal part and more on the characters lives/relationships. Contains mature content, abuse, and colorful language.

In the near future, almost everyone uses the Collective, a biotech invention that allows anyone to upload their consciousness into the body of any other user on the network. Selene, however, grew up in a ludd community (people who refuse to join the Collective), and she's fought for years to separate herself from the stigma of that identity. So, when she joins the Collective and gets a prestigious job at City Hall, she hopes this is the first step toward her new future. Instead, she finds herself being dragged back to the world she so desperately wants to leave behind. Ludds have been disappearing around Capital City, and Selene is tasked with getting to the bottom of it. In order to do that, however, she must team up with her brother Leo, who's not only a ludd but proud of it. Together, the two must work out their differences in order to solve the mystery. But as they begin to dig into the disappearances, they stumble across a sinister plot-one that may very well put both the Collective and the ludds in grave danger.

Mars wants to see the world and experience everything it has to offer him, but he can't do that from inside a glass cage locked away in a laboratory. A failed attempt to create a better weapon with partial immunity to the green, Mars is a lab experiment whose cells are routinely reprogrammed to test new algorithms and their response to the green. And they're all supposed to come together and save the world. We'll see about that. Rough draft for NaNoWriMo.
