Als je (geheel per ongeluk) vampier wordt door je beste vriendin, wat doe je dan? Ga je dan wanhopig op zoek naar het tegengif, of geniet je van je nieuwe leventje?
  
Demi & Marthe Van der Meer zijn een tweeling van 14 jaar. Ze zijn een eeneiige tweeling en hun ouders zijn gescheiden. Demi woont bij hun moeder Johanna, en Marthe bij hun vader Laurens. Ze zien elkaar maar eens in de week op zo genoemde: 'familie weekend'. Op de 2e dag van familieweekend gaan Marthe en Demi barbecueën bij Emily Veduva, de beste vriendin van de tweeling. 
  Na een week komen de meisjes weer terug bij elkaar met rare klachten, ineens willen ze rode limonade drinken, worden hun tanden scherp en hun huid bleker. Volgens hun ouders slapen ze ook heel slecht en moeten ze naar de dokter.  Maar de tweeling wil eerst naar Emily voor een verklaring...
