We all have run into them sometime in our life. But being one is far different. 

One time ago there was a girl named Onyx. She was a wee little thing but her personality was greatly terrifying. Onyx cared not for human life and disposed of any who glanced at her wrong...perhaps this is what led her to do the unthinkable. Her hair was blacker than the night sky and her skin glowed like the pale light of the moon. Any who saw her told stories on how her eyes were like the ice in the north and cut right through the heart. Perhaps she regretted all the lives she had taken...or maybe she was murdered...but one night Onyx was found dead in her bedroom of the castle she lived in. Her own blood staining her white night gown. 

It is said that Onyx was given a choice, to spend eternity in hell or an eternity paying for her crimes in the living world.  
No one knows what one she chose and so her story remains alive until her choice is certain.

The structure of the chapters is based on Dante's Inferno/The Devine Comedy. I started this around the same time I drafted "Letters From Iroh," when I was in my first year of college/university. I was reading the book for a Humanities course at the time and writing this helped me to better remember the order of all the layers of Hell and the corresponding sins/punishments/etc. Look at that, anime helped my grade! This is my first fanfic, it isn't good at all and I probably will never touch it again. You were born as a demon with a human soul, so unlike other demons, you have human emotions and morals. You hated yourself for how you had to eat human souls just to live. You killed yourself because of how you had to stay alive. But you came back as a half-demon half reaper. (you should probably know this but if you don't I'm sorry about this little spoiler, if you kill yourself you have to repent and live as a reaper) Because you are a half-demon now you have to cover your demon eye and hold back your demonic strength. Everyone in the agency sees you as an outcast, even if your partnered up with them for a mission. You actually like living as a reaper because you don't have to eat human souls anymore, but you hate that you are always alone. The only time you ever really got to talk to someone else was when you were partnered with them for a mission but it seemed like everyone hated you. One day you get paired up with an odd red-haired man who didn't give off the vibe that he hated you. ~disclaimer I don't own Black Butler or any of its characters or the cover photo~ Also bear with me on this one it was my first book and it made me discover that I'm not good with romance stories, but I think that I'm doing better with my other works that I've been doing.
