Carmen Francis is a perfectly normal, average, run of the mill eighteen year old girl. It's the beginning of June and she's looking forward to spending the summer with her parents and younger brother Max and sister Mae. A perfectly normal summer. But that's not the case, no, not when a stranger shows up on her doorstep out of nowhere, claiming to be Carmen's biological mother. She goes against her gut instinct and agrees to later meet this strange woman, without her parents knowing. Instead of getting to know her and returning home to familiarity and her own family, Carmen is taken aboard her biological mother's ship. She meets her strange husband and three of her other children- Carmen's half siblings. While battling her homesickness, Carmen is taken closer and closer to the end destination; her biological mother's home in the British Isles, thousands of miles from where she should be. Along the way she starts to care for her half siblings: thirteen year old Sidian, eleven year old Izzria and seven year old Joei. She wonders if she'll ever see her home and family again, and has to figure out where she belongs. With the parents that she loves and Max and Mae, or with Sidian, Izzria and Joei, with a woman she detests and a father figure she hardly knows.

Iliana Katrakis couldn't care less about the will of the gods, and she's certain they feel the same way about her. After all, it's rare for the god-touched to live normal lives--and that's all she wants. Having spent the last three years aboard the merchant ship Airlea, Iliana couldn't be happier. Sure, her best friend Kain is the only one who knows she's a girl, but it's a good life. The work is simple, and her shipmates are the closest thing to a family she has. Fate, however, is not on her side. A storm tosses the Airlea wildly off course. Within the day, she's stranded, alone and injured, on a foggy island known only as Inna's Cove. She's given a choice: become one of the islands' goddess blessed sirens and rescue her best friend, or take her chance with the monster-infested woods. The choice seems obvious. That is, until the mercenaries arrive. Their captain wants a siren--and not even the threat of the goddess' wrath will change his mind. **Cover by Morana
