Keyli Smith, an average 15-year-old girl, likes many things; boys, Taylor Swift, and cute puppies. But she dosent like it when she has to live with her deaf aunt, Clara, while her parents are on an exciting journey, in Africa. Clara lives in Provincetown, a small Cape Cod community, at her photography store. Since Clara can not hear, she has a job were hearing is not needed.
Keyli misses her home in Boston, she misses her friends, and her dog; Friday. However the one thing she will never ever miss, is Julian Hoffey. The supreme bad-ass, the naughty kid, the guy that no girl should fall for. And all year she stood a good distance from him- 14.5 feet exactly. She can't chance her good grades, popularity, and reputation. No amount of sexiness can make Keyli ruin her life. She has big shoes to fill; her parents, and she won't let them down.
But her summer- as bad as it was already- had gotten worse. Julian Hoffey is at Provincetown, and not only dose he have to be in her summer, but Julian also works at Carla's photography shop. This fabulous summer that was supposed to be, is now completely, and utterly ruined. Or is it?...
