Anastasia was a small town girl from a rural town in Vermont, unknown and unaccomplished. Good grades seemed to mean nothing, when she completed high school and still had only gotten very few college acceptances. She chose a college in New York City, just for a change in pace, plus she would be living on blocks from her big brother. Besides the cheap apartment, and not so high ranked schooling, New York City doesn’t seem so bad. She’s gotten a good foothold in her major in Dance and feels as if life just might have turned around, when she gets a call from her aunt, telling her that her parents were in a fatal accident, and neither survived. Upon returning to NYC after the funeral, Ana’s life takes a nose dive. Forced now, with her parents gone, to face parts of her past that she hasn’t looked at for years, Ana feels as if things couldn’t get worse. And then she meets mysterious, sexy, and charismatic Christopher Edwards. He seems to be the perfect fix, and Ana is beginning to fall back into rhythm again when he uncovers to her a scary past and a dark secret. After all he’s done for her, with Ana be able to put her own past behind her, and help Christopher face his own?
He took a step closer, lowering his voice just enough for her to hear.
"Then name your price, Miss Rawal."
The air between them turned razor-sharp. Everyone waited - stunned, breathless - for Arisha's reply.
Her lips curved, not in amusement but in challenge. "Your whole worth," she said slowly, "is not even close to my price."
