After Champion Cynthia's sister died giving birth, her niece, Y/N Shirona has grown up with the Champion her as caretaker and her Pokemon as her cousins. Y/N sees them as family, rather than the most powerful team in all of Sinnoh. At the age of 10, Y/N leaves her family and home in Celestic Town and sets off on her own Pokemon journey, not knowing what to expect. Y/N meets her own Pokemon partners, forms strong connections with new friends, and battles against a newly declared rival as she takes on Sinnoh's gyms. She even encounters the legendary Pokemon and saves them side by side with her friends as they foil the evil Team Galactic's plan to capture them and take over Sinnoh. Outside of her hometown, no one knows that Y/N is the niece of their Champion, or the internal fear she dreads of battling her for the title. Y/N dreams of becoming Champion, but that means battling the closet person to a mother she has and the beloved team of Pokemon cousins who have raised and protected her.
