Nate Gray is a young teenage boy who thinks life isn't worth living, and seeks his diary to feel at place. After moving to a different school, and leaving all his best friends behind, he now knows what it feels like to be an outcast. Nate wants to know what it feels like to be love. Nate realizes that the new town he lives in, doesn't give much to do. He goes to the Public Library to silently write, but a book attracts his eye.
