In the Dystopian world of Virtutis Terra, The Land of Courage (Latin), heroes are raised. Having been separated from their families, children are held in custody outside of the massive city and are taught about the importance of courage. At the age of sixteen, they are put to the test by being assigned a specific task or adventure to undergo. They have no other option than to succeed, or die trying. Failure to accept an adventure results in immediate sentencing to slavery. But if one can complete their quest, they will return to praise, fame, and a life of prosperity. Everything seems so planned out, so perfect, and in Blake's opinion, a little too perfect.
