Lenna has been struggling to figure out how to live her life on her own after losing both her parents at a young age and being forced to live in foster care until she turned 18. Getting her life together was always hard when she was constantly being tested.

Keane was always the troublemaker, and into one of the most shadiest of businesses, a smuggler for the other realm. Her jobs were long and hard, but she was in debt to her boss and so eager to work it off. Eternal debts aren't that easy to get out of though.

When Keane must deliver Lenna to the other realm, Lenna comes to realize that she's got powers she could have only dreamed of. However, this journey to the other realm becomes frenzied as they encounter many who would rather see the pair dead.

Will they beat the clock? What is it about Lenna's power that attracts trouble? What happens when human emotions take over non-human beings?

Leena Nur was wrapping up her senior year at Leading Senior High this summer and with that, her domestic duties were also coming to their end. High school was nothing to miss for Leena. Instead, it was the bridge between childhood and adulthood. For the entirety of her life, she had been stuck there, forbidden to cross. Leena was neither young and never close to being old enough for anything. She considered it the curse of being the youngest and only daughter of a traditional East African family. As the sole daughter of her doting parents, Leena was their pride, their joy and also...their live-in maid. She was the youngest sibling of four brothers and as if being surrounded by them every living moment was not enough, her relentless neighbor, and brother's best friend made sure to loiter around to make her life worse. It was fine, she told herself, since she was determined to move out soon because of it. She knew she was close to the freedom she had been stealing tiny licks of since forever. She was graduating and that meant something so, so important. College. New Friends. And most irrevocably exciting, boys. If her father had heard that, let alone her brothers, Leena would have been locked deep inside her closet-sized room. However, she was determined they never would because by that time, she'd already be far away in America with her potential soul-mate, sipping hot cocoa and wrapped in lovely scarves she knitted. All she desired now, was to get through the rest of her high school career quieter than a mouse and receive that acceptance letter from UCLA. She could do it. Right? If she could just evade that annoying neighbor of hers.

***This is considered the second book to Labyrinth: Saving the Fallen City. You will be able to read this if you haven't read the first book with only minimal confusion.*** Elliana never understood why her parents trained her at such a young age with a sword and bow and arrow. Or, why her parents drilled into her twin brother's head that they were to never leave each other and always take care of one another, no matter what. She was just a princess and future Queen of the High Kingdom right? Soon enough, she will learn that she has had a red dot pointed at her heart since before she was even born. Elliana finds the line of good and bad blurred sometimes, but she isn't aware that it is because someone has put a speck of darkness in her heart and it will only show when she turns sixteen years old. Leegan has always protected his twin sister. When he was only ten years old, he overheard his parents talking about an evil man that would come for his sister. Since then, he has trained with the most elite to help protect his best friend/sister. He never thought the day when his sister would disappear would be so soon. If the man who promised Leegan's mother through dreams that he would steal Elliana away didn't kill or harm his sister, the wicked creature that was traveling with her would. Leegan's training never mattered more than it did now.
