Jo is an adventurous 17 year old girl who hates her mean, boring rich family and has a strong compassion for orphaned children. 

Jo has secrets though; secrets that her family would strongly disapprove of and her mother would certainly ship her away if she ever found out. One of her secrets however, is not really that much of a secret at all. Her desire to paint is known by her mother and is taken advantage of. The other secrets however are extremely dangerous and that is why no one must know of them. 

In her spare time she sneaks out of her house to help out a small gang of orphaned children. One night while sneaking out she finds two new orphans and is determined to help them with their mission. Their mission however could cause terrible trouble for Jo, and might even reveal her secrets. But Jo is convinced on helping her new friends at any cost. Even her own.
