Lacey was born a normal girl to normal parents, or so she thought. Having been brought up with her parents and grandmother on an isolated farm, she never realised how special she was until her grandmother showed her. Discovering you have a special ability called The Touch that allows you to see into people's past and future changes her life forever. When she also discovers that the children with The Touch were being hunted by the government for this knowledge, Lacey's family tries to conceal her abilities so that she is never found. At the age of sixteen when her family home is ambushed and she escapes, Lacey must venture out into a world that she has never known and create a life for herself with a new identity. Feeling that her life has ended, Lacey finds comfort in a woman called Blind Bird who can contact her through her gift and together they work to save others like her. Having friends and finding love is something that Lacey must avoid and she is able to until one fateful day while on assignment to save a child she crosses paths with Slade Maxwell. Slade is part of an underground group that is also trying to save the children with The Touch and with Lacey's help they can track and locate the children faster and save more lives. But as Lacey becomes involved with this underground group she discovers that they have been expecting her, that they believe she is the person who will change the world forever. But can she change the world which might put their lives at risk in the process, including her own and Slade's? Only those that have The Touch can decide. A story about children born with special abilities and one woman who could change their lives and the world, forever. It is about love, anger, betrayal and finding out who you really are. This is the first book in a two part series.

Cameron, with his charming smile and cheerful personality, hides some dark misery from his past and he is not about to let some mysterious so-called witch and her so-called ability to read people know about it. Until he accidentally grabbed her one day when she dropped something and she saw a vision. She ran away, of course, horrified by what she had just saw. He wants to know why, at the same time he wants to forget everything and just lives his life normally. Then one day his past comes haunting back at him and he could only think about one person in his mind to ask for help. So let's just say it is a surprise for Hazel when she finds Cameron at her doorstep, practically begging her to read him. This story tells about friendship, family, society, empathy and love... so hop right in.
