A human fell into the Underground, and began befriending every monster they came across, including the skeleton brothers. Their acts of kindness seemed to be genuine, giving the monsters no reason to distrust them... Until the human pulled a one-eighty and killed Sans when everyone least expected it.
This is the story of how Papyrus grieved over his older brother's death, how he discovered the truth about his mysterious sibling... and eventually, how he decides to avenge his sibling's murder.
But in the end he'll forget everything once the timeline resets again, right? That's what he's afraid of.
(Based on the AU "Disbelief Papyrus," but with an original twist. There are no pairings except for what's canon. This is mainly Papyrus-centric, but it does focus on mystery of Sans during the story.)

Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth. Humans and monsters. At least, that's the story we all know. There was another race. Technically, they were monsters. Skeleton monsters to be exact. Humans shunned them because they were monsters. Monsters shunned them because humans had skeletons. In retaliation, the skeletons split into two different races. The Surface Skeletons and the Abyss Skeletons. The Surface Skeletons reaches out to both monsters and humans. However, when the war started, they were some of the first monsters attacked and many were killed when they fought with the other monsters. Only a handful were sealed underground but without the Sun to strengthen their bones, the skeletons suffered until they received anonymous help. Very few survived to this point and slowly, they died out. The Royal Scientist at the time and his wife tried to have children. Each time left them severely weakened. Each child dusted until the wife gave up her life to bring a great skeleton into the world. That child is the last of his kind. The Abyss Skeletons shunned all other monsters and humans, considered them all demons. Their society was alike human society long ago. Divided. They believe they are strong and emotions only weaken. The class system was rigid and they possessed a kill or be killed attitude to all other monsters and humans. They thrived underground and ended up building their society in the Underground's own Abyss. It is a shame that only their leader can reclaim their heir from the corruption caused by those demons. Starting Over
