Twelve nights.
Twelve schools.
Twelve jerseys.
Twelve rules.
Twelve angry quarterbacks.
One girl.

Olive Bennington is the one and only Bowl Bandit. She gets caught sneaking out by her older brother twelve nights in a row and as her punishment, she has to steal the jerseys of the twelve quarterbacks playing in The Thunder Bowl on the nights leading up to the first game. Why? Because her brother is the creator of the event and he wants more publicity on it. With no choice but to do as her brother says, she finds that the first three schools are no problem at all until Northvale High.

You see, quarterbacks talk and someone had warned Nothvale High's very own quarterback, Clayton Taylor about jerseys going missing. He wants to catch whoever is doing the stealing, so he sets a trap.

Olive falls into the trap and luckily gets away with his jersey, but Clayton now has an advantage. He heard her voice. That might not seem like much to identify a person, but he finds her after a very awkward exchange at a grocery store. Olive of course runs away again, but now Clayton has seen her face.

Olive worries that he will tell the rest of the players her real identity. She couldn't believe that he found her. She only spoke at most three words to him out of fear that he caught her. She was always super careful. She didn't even say anything mean to him either. All she said was:

"Uh, Go Eagles!" Before running to her brother's car.

As more days go by and more jerseys are stolen, Olive has more quarterbacks after her and she's realizing that maybe there's more to the game then guys running around in colorful jerseys. With The Thunder Bowl growing closer, it is almost time for her to reveal her true identity and to return the jerseys. Enter an annoying ex-boyfriend, jealous fangirls, and the lack of closet space to hide the jerseys and you've got enough drama to take up twelve football fields.

Warning: Strong use of cursing and cliché moments.

"Are you sure you're okay, sweetie?" she asks. I take the ice pack back. I nod, but it hurts. My brain feels jostled by the littlest movements. "Yeah," I gasp, holding in any acknowledgment of pain. "I'm fine. Thanks." She glances down, and I catch her eyeing my bruised shins. They took the brunt of the impact. "Football," I explain. She nods. "That's a rough sport," she says. A pause. She walks back to her desk. Then, she stops. She turns around. She looks me in the eyes. Her face is solemn. "Hit 'em harder," she instructs. I nod and almost smile. "I will." *********************************************** It's 1998, and seventeen-year-old Stephanie "Stevie" Rogers is attempting the unthinkable: she wants to be the first female football player at Truman High. Too bad the team, headed by her ex and a sexist coach, won't let it happen. Then of course there's her sexist step-dad, who can't know she's playing football or her life as she knows it would end. If it weren't for her cute guitar-playing best friend, Calvin, all hope might be lost. But with his help, and the discovery of a secret so scandalous it could rock the entire school, she may finally get her time under the stadium lights. *************************************************************************** "You're outnumbered. You need allies if you're gonna survive the season. These guys are gonna have your back. You need them." "I don't need anyone," I insist. "Ha," he hiccups. "Yes, actually, you do." He ploinks me on the nose. I scowl. "No one is invincible." I continue to scowl. He sighs. "Just trust me on this one. Okay?" My face softens a little. He's just trying to help. "Fine," I comply. "But don't expect me to smile about it." He grins. "That's too bad. You're pretty when you smile." "Shut up."

HIGHEST RANKING #80 "Will you work with me in a civil manner?" "I'm sorry, what?" "Just answer the question, Grey." "I just told you I want to win this too. I don't have a choice, do I?" I mumbled irritably. Especially if you have annoying contenders and a series of drama surrounding your personal life, but maybe they don't have to face all the challenges alone. After all, they are partners, right?
