Something had to have happened between the events in Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge. Not only does the Kid seem like a different musician, but a different person. He went from on the verge of success to nothing and I wanted to explore some of those changes in his life.
The Kid stumbles on a notebook tossed aside in a puddle. Picking it up he can't put down the prose, artwork and diary entries of an unknown girl. He wants to learn more about this mystery woman he has only known through her journal writing. He finds himself at a crossroads and is in search of guidance and distraction, could she be the one to help him?
Please know that this is the Kid, not Prince, though I did borrow from events in Prince's life, they are not linear or under certain timelines. AU of course, but most references will be built from what we know about the Kid in Purple Rain and Graffiti Bridge.
Inspired in part by the 2 month love affair between Gertrude and Dexter. Shout out to Ingrid Chavez!
Each chapter has poetry at the end, credited to that poet.

"What are you doing here?" I ask but it comes out as a sob. I don't want him, or anyone for that matter, to see me like this. I'm a wreck. Wyatt doesn't seem to mind though. He softly brushes the remaining tears from my face with his thumb. "I saw you run out of the canteen, green eyes. I couldn't just leave you here to cry because that would go against the tutor code." However, this all changes the day her boyfriend of two years, James, breaks up with her. Naturally, she's crushed. The icing on the cake is why he did it. Apparently she's 'too boring'. Determined to prove him wrong, she strikes a deal with the school's notorious bad boy, Wyatt King. She'll tutor him in maths if he teaches her to be reckless, fearless and careless. Can Aurora overcome the odds and do what she planned? Or perhaps someone will stop her on her mission to win over James. Maybe this isn't as easy as she thought it would be. Maybe she takes things a little too far. **This is a very alternative plot and book 1/3** Prince is in his early 20s trying to piece his life together. He loves music, but he loves his girlfriend Rebecca even more. They became high school sweet hearts with her supporting his dreams of being a big musician. Prince can't keep his mind off of her at all times with his brain remembering the best parts of being with her. The truth is, he doesn't understand why her family and his family have been treating him so weird after Christmas. He copes with everything through alcohol and it concerns his and Rebecca's mother. The reality is that life may not be as well as Prince thinks it is.Complete

I wrote this short story at the beginning of 2020 as an alternate plot to Future Baby Mama. I've kept it a secret. I had so many different original ideas for that story and this was the very first draft starting with only 9 paragraphs. I rewrote it entirely while following the same ideas I had for FBM. What if in the original plot of Purple Rain (the plot from his memoir The Beautiful Ones) Prince doesn't take on the personalities of his mother and father, but instead of Jamie Starr and Camille. Jamie is his destructive egotistical side that loves to drink, while camille is his lustful sexual side, always coming on to another human. Camille sings the dirty lyrics...while Jamie sings about how everyone should go fuck themselves. And Prince...he's fighting with these two personalities. Trying so hard to be found normal, he creates his own music to avoid them. Meets a girl named Divinity, introduced to him by a band mate one night at a gig. He falls head over heels in love with her. She already has a boyfriend with his own band, but Prince treats Divinity how a girl should be treated, and she treats him like anyone else. Divinity even gets to speak to these personalities. Her boyfriend hates him because he's the freak of the town. This is no love triangle.Complete

third poem collection. they aren't in any particular order or anything like that, and after 100, there will always be a new one. if you've been here a while, I'm sure you know the drill. now, about the cover. it was a random Thursday, and an old friend and I went to Cottonwood Island Park in PG. this bridge is covered in graffiti and writing, and it has been painted over to cover it up, or boards have been replaced to get rid of it. yet, there's always writing on this bridge. it felt like no matter what, nobody can silence the voices that need to be heard. and I felt that. anyways, please enjoy this chaotic collection of poetry.
