Sand underneath their feet. A cool breeze blowing in from the ocean. The waves gently lapping at their toes.
And then, a shout. A cry. A scream for help that goes ignored.
The moon continues shining. The water continues crashing on the beach.
But the lives of Wren and Dot have been wrecked.
Two years. Two short and barely memorable years had passed since Devon had escaped her captor James. Lying low in a deadbeat town where crime wasn't very known. As well as choosing to keep her family safe and not return home after her escape. Devon stays with the one person she could trust ever since before the abduction, her best friend Hannah.
That is until one day, James and his fellow friends take Hannah hostage and offer Devon an exchange. Hannah would be guaranteed freedom if Devon handed herself over to James willingly. With time dwindling down, Devon must decide, who's life she can save for the better. Her best friend's life has barely just begun or herself after being scared for so long. Decisions must be made, but not all are good.
