At 19, Kijah feels like she's outgrowing her family's small urban farm. She also has questions about her real father, a Faenyr man her mother won't talk about. Growing up in Treyu, at least, being half-blooded is common. But she just doesn't feel like she fits.

Now she wonders about magic, and the nature of true power, as they explore each other's worlds. She is swept up in newfound love that brings a whirlwind of change.
