"You done?" Marcus asked, arms crossed as he leaned against the wall. Calm. Unbothered.
Andre was pacing the room, one hand running down his face, the other unconsciously resting over his stomach. His fingers pressed in slightly, like he was trying to ground himself. "You don't get it, Marcus. You shouldn't be here. I destroy everything I touch."
Marcus sighed and pushed off the wall. He stepped forward, closing the space between them, and cupped Andre's jaw, forcing him to look up. "You done?" he repeated.
Andre swallowed hard. "Marcus-"
"Nah." Marcus's voice was firm, steady. "You're gonna stand here and tell me all the reasons I should leave. And when you're done, I'm gonna tell you why I'm never going anywhere."
Andre stared at him, lips parting, searching for something to say-but nothing came.
Marcus smirked, tilting his head. "Now c'mere, lemme rub on you."
