Camden Bates

When an environmental apocalypse hits, Camden Bates is left alone with his blind sister Claire. They need to get from their tiny Vermont hometown to Boston Massachusetts to try to find their mother, if there is anything left in Boston to begin with. They will have to put up with a barrage of fatally dangerous chemical mutations to the Earth, down to air that turns your lungs to fire on contact. With the constant risk of sun poisoning and rain that eats away at human skin, would it be safer for Camden and Claire to head to an alleged safe house rumored to be at the nation's capital? Or is the possibility of their mother being alive worth the risk?
