A mermaid named Sirène, whose job as a mermaid is to guide those who have died at sea to rest their souls and not be trapped. She typically finds sailors whose ships have sunk, and pirates and convoys alike. Her personality is one of seriousness, and she does not express herself by facial expressions very often. She does sung lovely tunes though, ones of the sea and winds, not ones meant to lure anyone to their doom. She seldom spends time with other merfolk and prefers to be on her own. She is however very curious of the various emotions humans possess and their intensity, since she does not feel these. One day, while Sirène was staying near Pointe de Pen Hir, a dangerous cliffside that plunges right into the ocean. Looking upwards by chance, she saw a human, a man, standing dangerously near the edge of the rocks. The wind blew harshly and she could only watch and wait as he toppled over the edge and feel towards the ocean. She saw no fight in him as he fell. ________________________________________________________________ This is a fantasy story with my mermaid OC that I started making back when I was in middle school. I've used her character to help me through tough times and I am revisiting her. I want to make sure I have a place to remember her story, and make it a happier one than before.

Astrid's life had been shoved off a cliff without a parachute. When she's at rock bottom a thump in the night might just bring light at the end of the tunnel. Finding new family, friends and a new lover brings both happiness and new challenges into her life. But will this happiness last when figures from her sordid past come back to haunt her?

There were two of us. Both drowning in each other's pain. I got lucky and swam up to the top grasping for air. She sank to the bottom and there was nothing I could do for her. She may have drowned but I feel like I did. And now I'm breaking. Because without her why am I even living?

The ocean was an unforgiving force that took as it pleased and gave little back. Astrid knew that to be a fact. After the tragedy of her mother's death, she watched her father's sanity collapse as he was driven to prove that it was more than just a boating accident. Unlike him, she stayed well away from the water's edge and out of its grasp, immersed in the sorrow of her loss. But what little the ocean did give back, a man of myth with the tail of a fish, could reveal more about the secrets to a harrowing conspiracy brewing below the surface.

The ocean was once his home, The waves made him felt alive, The sky reminded him of freedom, But everything changed since that summer day, When the dawn breaks, As the birds starts to fly, A girl whom he once held, Now floats dead on the sea of uttermost despair.

The process of losing someone does not happen all at once. It comes in bits and pieces, creeping up on you slowly but surely. It hurts me a lot every time you need me and I can't do anything about it. I wish I can give you a hug to make you feel better. "There is an ocean of silence between us and I am drowning in it.. But I will always, always love you"
