Carter Harris is a high school teacher. Every year, he meets his new set of students. This year, his student, Mary Kate Daniels, looks familiar, but he doesn't know why. When he was 16 years old, he had given his baby girl up for adoption. Mary Kate. She's 17 years old and is very shy and hard working. She was adopted when she was a baby. Carter had given his daughter up for adoption when he was 16 years old. He finds several ways to find out if Mary Kate is his daughter or not. Mary Kate, doesn't know who her birth parents are but is determined to find out who they are. She's 17 years old and is now a junior in high school.
