Aubrey has always wanted a family. She lives in an orphanage, and has a tight schedule to follow because of her nasty care giver, Lacy. Aubrey wakes up, gets yelled at, goes to school, gets bullied, comes straight home, does her homework, eats the little dinner she gets, cleans her room, gets beat, cries, listens to R5, plays her guitar until she gets yelled at, and goes to bed. During breaks from school she has the same routine she just doesn't have school or homework. She has a rough life but a routine, and stays cheery all the time. Soon that routine changes for good.
